Thanks to the extensive GVB network, travelling within Amsterdam by public transport is easy and efficient. Connecting the city's neighbourhoods via train, tram, metro, bus, and ferry, Amsterdam's public transport system offers seamless options for getting around.
If you arrive from Schiphol, it is easiest to take one of the trains from the Schiphol station to the Amsterdam Centraal Station. Then follow the directions from Amsterdam Central to Singelkerk. You can either walk (approximately 20 minutes) or take the 2, 12 or 17 Tram. You must then get off at Koningsplein.
How to Pay
You can check in and out of public transport with your debit or credit card. Simply hold your card against the card reader on the bus, tram and metro.
- Hold your card against the card reader when boarding
- Wait for the beep confirming successful check-in
- Remember to check out at your destination
- Use the same card for check-in and check-out to avoid excess charges
